He never got a factory order build sheet. No way to verify the actual order. He’s running this gripe in two threads at this point and owned up to never getting an order sheet. He posted the web printout that ‘you’ build on Jeep.com. No order sheet, so he doesn’t even know what was sent to the factory from the dealer.
That "build your Jeep" on jeep.com is often incorrect and doesn't match reality. Even back in 2019 when I ordered mine - the salesman showed me what was REALLY on the order screen when I showed him what I had printed and wanted.
It's for reference only, never to be relied on as what you would really get. Things change but that site doesn't keep up. Even tires were wrong in the specs - they had the Overland and Rubicon tires switched around for a while in the specs.
The only REALITY is the screen the sales guy uses to order these.

Build your jeep is more for what-ifs.
Jeep should put a huge disclaimer on that site.

I guess that's one way to get this thread deleted... lol.
Why not edit title to something along the lines of "(Solved) Dealer Deposit Refund on Botched Order"?

What?
Please expand on your opinion.
It's not appropriate in this thread but it's not difficult to see the trend.

No, seriously, please don't.
Don't ask him to explain it further, and for the love of god please don't take him up on the offer.
Just leave it alone...

Exactly. It even allows you to include packages that are incompatible with each other. The reality is the factory order build sheet—it’s the only thing that matters and he never got a copy for the original order, so he doesn’t actually know line by line what the order was. All of the OPs posts on the original order are somewhat of a waste of time being that we have no build sheet to verify what was in the order or what wasn’t. We know he wanted a Katzkin mod, but we don’t know if they ordered cloth with a Katzkin mod as they should have or if they put factory leather in and it overrode the Katzkin add—I proved earlier in the thread that even the factory build sheet can allow that error to happen.

Thats how you get the dealer to
realize the $500 was not worth
the bad publicity they would get
thru out the jeep community...

Your Welcome!
And what a wonderful welcome it was! :like:

I told my dealer I wanted to see a print out of the order before they got my AMEX. Everything was in check minus the cost for Gecko green, but that is not their fault. Order was placed on Friday.......still waiting for my VIN or VON so I can start to trace/follow the build process.

I don't know if its me, but any major buy like a house, refi or car.........I go line by line BEFORE, there is a form of payment or signature on the dotted line. Being an analyst, I guess attention to detail is what I do.

So referencing Gupton (as highly respected in this forum) and comparing to stealerships, in retail there is a thing called "The Fast Nickell" which means basically: we can sell a metric poop-ton at X dollars mark-up, or we can sit on crap for months.
Evidently, Gupton is much wiser to the times.
