Sorry in advance, I’m sure these are Newb questions and answers likely found online but I need to drop the hammer quickly.

I bought a Gladiator Sport with the steel rims and street tires. With winter approaching, I found a set of four tires/rims from a new Rubicon locally for $1K. The tire size is pretty close and the rim size is exact so I think I’m good to go there.

Two questions. Can the tire shop just take my TPMS and move them to new rims? And.....any clue what that and installation might roughly cost? I’m trying to gauge if I should just buy rims and new tires given the $1K plus other costs.

Thanks y’all.....will advise how it turns out.

Yes, the sensors can just be swapped over. They don’t have to completely remove the tires to do that, so it shouldn’t cost you a lot. I have a tire guy who only charges me $20 to mount and balance a set of tires, but a guy like him will be hard to find. You can also buy a set of aftermarket sensors off eBay for about $40 if you’re willing to gamble on a non-OEM part.

Thanks! Just what I wanted to hear. I want an upgrade to what I have but not able to buy new whipass rims and big tires. This should do me well for at least a year or two.
