Going up to 35's soon. Have 32,000 on my stock Falken Wildpeaks now. 9/32 still left on all tires. My daughter's JLU needs new tires. Was thinking of putting the Falkens on her JL and pulling my spare (0 miles)and swap with her spare.
Other thought was to use my spare as a new rear tire for her, and buy another new Falken for her other rear tire. I'm assuming having 2 new rear tires and 2-32,000 miles tires on the front isn't a great idea? She's away at college so the JLU will mostly be used in the summer and when she's home on break. Figuring I can get another 2 years life out of them with her limited drive time.

It is fine in 2wd. And if you are on something slippery like snow and ice, it will be fine.
Best practice is to buy new ones to match the spare.
9/32 is still plenty of tread, I wouldn't hesitate to run them.
