In simple terms, it is an addon from a dealer of what they believe the market will bear for a particular good above base pricing.

The example you show though, is way off the mark and probably a web developer mistake.

Local dealer is heavy on Nighthawk inventory. I don’t know why anyone would pay a premium for one.

Theirs are discounted same as Sport S’s.

It's clearly an error for this one vehicle because all the others they list include discounts. But using a "price adjustment" to offset bonus cash is super scummy and if you try to deal with them expect the usual shenanigans.

No, I called and that's the price they are asking. They have a few with a market adjustment adding thousands. Buuuuuuuut, they could get me in one just like it for thousands less.

I was once in the car business for a short time 25 years ago. Sales Mangler would gut out the price on one specific vehicle and advertise it heavily, just to drive traffic and phone calls to the dealership. He might run that same ad the next weekend even if the vehicle had sold the previous week.

So I’m just spitballing here, and stay with me. What if that dealer is making that one marked up Nighthawk the “sacrificial lamb” to make the prices on all the others look much better? I dunno.

If it has an add on sticker, tell them to take it off. There BS. This is why some dealers have a 300 day supply of inventory. Tell them you will take the truck that day ,if they don't walk. Most dealers won't let a today buyer walk .
