sound after the replace the muffler, and end out with a "Fuel Contamination"

I took back my Jeep to the dealership, original they replaced Muffler, now when I get it back this is the sound is making.
it only make this sound when the engine is really hot.

can some one please tell me what it is.

I just got a call from my dealership, they said they have to do a diagnostic, because they see a code on fuel line. this is the text. " Question when was the last time you did your fuel filter? My technician just tried to go on a test drive and a vehicle started acting funny and shut off on him and there’s a bunch of fuel pressure codes now along with the check engine light. "

I was drivening in normal with no engine light, I dropped and now there is an engine light.

this sound really fishy...... what do you think....

I'm noticing a trend with Gladiators that be having repeating issues. They are usually the ones getting services by the dealers or shops. I don't see too many diy folks with multiple issues on this forum.

Let it sit overnight and it smells like gas and water, but mostly gas. We need to replace fuel pump, clean tank, fuel filter needs to be replaced, perform injector cleaning , and we need to replace the in tank fuel pump due to fuel contamination. We only need to do the low side and not the high side. Potentially once we start with the low side if we get any issues after retest, then there is a possibility we might need to replace the high side fuel pump. "

total price is 2,600

I put diesel the day before and drive the jeep more that 100 miles. before I take there.

Are you out of warranty? Sounds like they are blaming you for the issues due to bad fuel. You should go there and request to inspects the filter and ask them how did they determined all those issues.

I think they do not know and splitting up the fuel system into possibly two events is them guessing and buying time.

Yes, I am out of warranty. I am going to my insurance. and also they said that they two sample, one each day, and the computer is given them a code "Fuel Contamination"

If it was me, I would get a sample of fuel from the dealership and with my receipt for the fill up the day before and a written quote for repairs, Then I would head to where I filled up and start the process of having the station pay for the repairs. Cause if the fuel is contaminated, it came from their tanks. Good Luck.

Wow….
You know how you have a problem, take it in….and they can never replicate the problem? You should force them to take you on this ‘test’ drive and show you exactly what symptom they’re describing…..and prove it!!

And/or, as mentioned…take it to a different dealership and get a 2nd oppinion.

Sounds like they’re trying to rip you off……

So when is the last time you replaced the fuel filter?
What kind of fuel station do you normally use -- a small station in town, or a larger one that sees a lot of use by big rigs?

If it was me, I would get a sample of fuel from the dealership and with my receipt for the fill up the day before and a written quote for repairs, Then I would head to where I filled up and start the process of having the station pay for the repairs. Cause if the fuel is contaminated, it came from their tanks. Good Luck.

this is a small station , but it Is next to a RV park.
I respect of the fuel line filter I replace the filter fuel every other oil change, I replace back in February. direct my self, I hope is not me.... that change it wrong.

I call the gas station they just ignore me.
I just file with tdlr.texas.gov
I emailed the HARRIS COUNTY ATTORNEY.

if you have any more ideal were I can file a complete please let me know.
