You do not need to see over the tire. The receiving cup is in front or I should say in back of the tire. It did confuse me at first since it does not use the hooped part of the tool and when inserted goes to the left and not straight in.I found a picture of what you speaking about. Well, crap. Not sure I have this or not but the crank will not engage and I can’t even see over the tire to view what’s going on.
So I now have the same issue! The tools provided did not work for me. I ended up useing a long 3/8 drive socket extension to lower and raise the spare. I don’t want nor should I need to cart that around the tools provided should work!! What did you end up doing???I directed it into that cup, nothing, no engagement. I’m thinking maybe I do have that lock
Mechanism. Is every on different, I’m wondering or can I just order that and it work? Hmm
What did you do to fix the issue??I found a picture of what you speaking about. Well, crap. Not sure I have this or not but the crank will not engage and I can’t even see over the tire to view what’s going on.
