I had a 2020 JT with the alpine system and the 7” head unit and thought it sounded great.

Fast forward 2.5 yrs and I bought another JT with Alpine system but with 8.4”. I had to take it to the dealer for a crackle sound and they (replaced?) the sound bar.

The system just sounds bad, hollow, excessive treble hiss on cymbals , etc. Listening to Alice In Chains, Tool, Creed, FFDP is a no go. Went to 80’s rock even worse.

It sounds “hollow?”. Basically there is an exaggerated hiss in the treble so I have the treble way down the mids are flat and the bass up one.

I can fade the speakers all to the front and the sound is quite bassy…. I move the fade to the sound bar and it’s more mid high sound , two total sounds. The sound bar is more pronounced in this system
Then the older JT for sure.

Seems to me maybe crossover is jacked, speakers not hooked up right… they supposedly replaced the sound bar so the speakers should be fine

For what it’s worth it never sounded great before I took it in for speaker replacement for I think I had a blow driver from the get go.

I have searched and searched the internet for this lack of mid/mid bass sound in the speaker bar but hve found nothing.

Told the dealer I’m not far from just
Replacing the speakers.

Xm has the same high pitch treble sound but it doesn’t seem as pronounced as my iPhone plugged in via usb. All eq turned off on phone.

Really miss the system in the previous JT. Kind of disappointed for I feel I made a mistake getting rid of it for sure.

Sounds like you might have a phasing issue with the speakers.
There are apps for your phone to test phasing.

I’ll look for the apps for sure. Thanks.

I pretty much set everything as flat today and tried XM… couldn’t hear the claps in on song… sounded like a pillow over the speaker

Hooked up my iPhone via usb listening to Pandora and it’s Very bright and the sound bar is pronounced

About to lose my mind. I’ll search for phase apps this eveing

thanks again
