Same weather here….. and windy…. (southern PA). We’ll take the top off for maybe 3-4 days at a time and put it back on again. We have a hoist also. My husband and I can get the hard top off (or back on) in 5 minutes. We take it off often… maybe a couple times a month (Or more pending weather).Iowa the opportunities for removing the whole top and leaving it off for a day are slim anyway. 80 and sunny one day, 50 and rainy with extreme winds the next.
forecast for sunny and mild all day, you get an hour away and here comes a derecho and your panels are out. Thank goodness the top was at least on - and the panels were in the back!
Our number of really windy days also don't make it pleasant. So taking the whole top off is a seldom done thing. Seems to me the sunrider is an easy remove thing anyway and I can have the top off in minutes and hanging from the ceiling.
So… the inconvenience of having to uninstall the Sunrider and re-install it ….. several times a month…. I’d rather just pull the Freedom panels off manually.
We’re not afraid to pull over somewhere to install them when needed.
