Start Button push chidunk!

I have a 2022 Sport S Diesel with 16K miles. A few times this week I have had to push the start button a second time for the truck to start. Normally you hit the button and have a very short pause, then turns over and starts. when it doesn't work it does make a very slight chidunk sound, then I push the button again and it fires right up. Anyone have this problem or know what it may be? I have an appointment for next Tuesday at the dealer to see what they come up with.

Does it throw an ESS error code? I know that the system tests the ess system/battery before the vehicle starts, and if that fails, the vehicle will not start on the first push.

Not that I saw but I need to pay closer attention the next time. Dealer said right away they would check the battery first. I am still wondering what the aux battery runs exactly, I always wondered if the proximity door locks (that turn on all my exterior lights) as well run off the small battery.

The AUX battery is there to keep the electrical system up and stable during ESS events. The two batteries are paralleled together all the time, except during the startup test and when the ESS has the engine off.

When I clean or work on my truck all day the exterior lights are constantly coming on. I have Oracle headlights and rock lights that come on when I open the doors or even touch the door handles. Wondered if this may be hard on the aux battery.

It's pulling from both batteries at the same time, so it's not a problem.
