Hey all,

Cleaning off the JTR today noticed I have taken a hit to the Steering Damper/Stabiliser.
(easy to notice the dent and burred edge of the over casing)
Got a service at the dealer coming up this week andhow no doubt they will act like its the end of the world adn "Must be replaced"
To be honest, have no idea when I did it, I was out running trails on the weekend but don't remember a hit in that area at all. So probably have had it for a while.
I do not notice anything strange with the steering at all, seems normal to me.
Seems to run lock to lock just fine (as per pics)

So I guess my question is
do I need to change it out ?
or
if steering is still true just run it as is ?
And if I smacked the damper, should I be looking for anything secondary ?

Cheers

I've had a similar dent in mine for a while, seems not to have affected anything. Planning to switch to a high-mount damper when I go with bigger tie rod and drag link, but probably won't touch it until then.

If it drives normally, then I wouldn't worry for now, just pay attention to possible sticky spots in the steering travel. Or you might be able to get someone's takeoff stock damper for not much or free

RHD setup is interesting.
