Steering wheel controls intermittent

Looking for some help with this one. I have a 2021 Gladiator Overland edition with about 56k miles on it. In the last year my steering wheel controls have fluctuated from working to not working to flashing sporadically. Recently it has become the worst it has been. The steering wheel control backlights flash constantly, cruise control won’t work, and the phone and audio buttons never work on the first press…repeatedly pushing them seems to work…eventually.

I can do a bit of my own mechanic work but electronics have never been my strong suit.

I am including a video that shows the flashing and the cruise control turning off at random. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet would be to see if there are any fault codes present, most likely related to the SCCM (steering column control module), which could help guide in troubleshooting. My hunch at this point is that the clockspring, an integral part of the the SCCM, may be bad.

no codes, visible or hidden, present. Check engine light hasn’t even flickered on during this debacle. I was thinking clock spring too after extensive dives down the internet rabbit holes. Just curious if anyone else could confirm or deny before I started shotgunning parts at it.
