So I’m still trying to chase a wind noise I get over 20mph that sounds like a hiss inside my cabin. To me it sounds like how air comes through vents went using defrost on low for the windshield but no climate is on. I took it to dealer and they heard it but didn’t seem to want to do much about it unless I want them to tear apart the dash one day or something.

Anyway I was looking toward firewall and while under the jeep I noticed these two open holes. I assume it’s bare around them due to maybe being used as a way to hold the vehicle during assembly. But does anyone else have these holes open and bare metal under their trucks? They are behind the passenger and driver wheel well.

A fine cigar is, not only manna from heaven, but an effective wind hiss noise diagnostic tool.

But please. For the love of all that is good and right: Don't spend less than $10 on it.

(I would recommend a Nicaraguan blend from Cuban seed)

I would have a dealership spend their time chasing it and then it'll be covered under warranty.

Not sure about the holes. One way to chase a noise is to use some painter's tape. Try putting some over the holes and then driving.

I also has a leaky front window seal. I systematically taped a couple of feet at a time on the window/seal edge and drove it until I narrowed down the section that has not been sealed properly.

How would a cigar help? Honestly curious. Unless your just talking about blowing smoke in all over the place??

"blowing smoke all over the place" is a rather crude way of describing it. As my ex used to say, "I don't need to blow anything". (hence why she is my ex, but I digress)

Just light it and allow it to get going. Then have somebody else drive while you surgically wave the lit cigar near and around the sound of the air leaks. You'll see the air coming and going. And while you're at it - hop in the back seat and check there too. Might as well find and fix them all since you paid for such an expensive cigar.

You shouldn't need to worry about ashes if you took my advice and got a quality cigar. One sign of a fine cigar is that it will hold an ash for a long way (up to 1 or 2 inches) even while being moved about. If it doesn't - you got ripped off.

Yes, a little smoke will exist in your sterile cabin for a brief period of time. It will not permanently contaminate your vehicle. Trust me.

You'll ask the next person who rides in your vehicle if they can smell smoke. They'll say "no". And you'll reply with, "the reason you were able to hear that question is all thanks to that smoke you can't smell"

That's what what the dealership will do to find air leaks.
