Sting grey owners (future) check in

Last week (9/23)I checked with dealer and was told no change still in SanDiego waiting. Jeep chat connected me with concierge. Hint if you don’t have an LE, they won’t help. They passed me on to jeep corporate. They told me last update was 9/23 and it was on the move.

Called dealer today. They said it was waiting second rail and last update was 9/9. I told them they were wrong and provided info from corporate. They checked again. Nope nothing. Said they need to check again. Low and behold they found it was arriving Wednesday.

Wow. Dealer had no idea an ordered stock was two days out.

I really don’t think they have much visibility. My dealer has been super attentive and giving me updates nonstop. I asked him if he could give me a bit of a firm date so I can get my travel in place now that mine is built and on its way. His response:

“I'll give you as much notice as I can and that may not be much, most likely I'll roll in one morning and it will be here, no worries though I can keep it safe for a few days depending on your schedule for taking delivery.”

How much did the winch set you back? My Sting Gray Rubi is supposed to be here next week - 2" Mopar lift and 37's going on the day after it arrives at the dealer. Didn't think to check in on the winch right away!

Normally I would get that. Where I live it gets manifested in a particular ship with travel dates. Of course weather could play a part. However they had no idea it was even manifested. After almost 40 days (8/24) in shipping you would think they’d pay attention.

The time has come for me to graduate to the owners thread. Ordered 7/25, delivered to dealer yesterday (delayed due to rail car breaking down in Nebraska), picked up today. The WK now has a friend.

I think it’s entirely dependent on where it is going. I got my sticker yesterday, and the dealer says I should be seeing it the weekend of 10/12.
This is going about an hour north of Atlanta.

Ordered Overland Sting Grey on 9/16 From Jstar In Orange County California. All options except leather. Being shipped to Florida dealer as my up fitter is in Pensacola. Status today is D1 according to FCA chat person.

Ordered 9/19, was D1 status on 9/25. Today, Jeep Chat said it's built and in "I" status. Somehow I think it can't be right. Is there any way that 2 weeks from order date the truck is built?

Mine was exactly one month from order to delivery. Definitely possible

Well I received my build sheet last night so that means it is a complete truck, but still needs to go through quality inspection before it's considered 'built' and the window sticker is then issued. Or at least that's how I interpret the process from reading through all of the order tracking/build status threads. Maybe your order has some options that they are waiting on the suppliers for parts, or they are not spraying the color you want until a specific date range. I'd imagine they spray body colors in batches. Seems like it would be very difficult to spray a different color on each body that rolled through the paint booth on a given day. All guesses really. Maybe I just got lucky. However, it still doesn't mean anything. I've read countless posts about people getting to KZ status and then sit there for a month before it actually ships out.
