2022 Jeep Gladiator Overland
I currently have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Overland with the premium Alpine system with the factory subwoofer and have been wanting to upgrade the bass portion of it a bit as I feel the factory sub is a bit lacking with the volume up and the jeep opened up (windows, top, etc)

When it comes to audio, a lot has changed from my days when I had a show car that competed in sound competition and so with the Gladiator, I am leaving it to the hands of the professionals.

However, what I was quoted and what they want to install, I am not too familiar with and wanted to see if anyone is running this sub enclosure and possibly amp and see what your thoughts are on the setup or if this sounds reasonable..

Stinger / Audio Control Dual 8" Subwoofer enclosure for Jeep Gladiator
SounDigital XP 1000.1 - 1 Ohm Amplifier
Pac Audio APSUB-CH41
Raptor 1500W - 4 AWG Amp Kit with RCA Cable Pro Series
Adjustable Bass Knob

Everything installed roughly $1,900.

I wanted to come on here and ask the experts what your thoughts are.. Decent system for the price?

Really depends on what you’re looking for. If you want competition type sound the route that’s been suggested is a good start. If you just want some more depth to your bass line you really can’t go wrong with a Kicker Hideaway 10” setup. Install it yourself and save that cash for something else. $1900 for a sound system in a Jeep with the acoustics of a sardine can is a bit much for my blood.

Thank you! I had started out looking at the Kicker Hideaway 12”, the new one they just came out with and that all changed when I went into the car audio shop. But my big struggle is like you said, that money could be spent somewhere else on the Jeep rather than just the sound system.

What I hate is none of these shops have these units on display so you can hear what they sound like so you are going in blind.

They came out with a 12”??!! Did not know that. Will have to look at the specs on that and see if it will fit.

Kicker makes quality stuff. I haven’t heard one that didn’t sound good for what the aim of the build was. I never owned one because in my audiophile days I was more interested in SQ. My system was all Polk Audio SR stuff with MtX amps. Wish I still had all of it.
