Hey guys, I've been looking to replace my stock air filter on my 2021 Gladiator diesel. Nobody seems to have a cross-reference for this air filter for any of the major brands (Fram, Purolator, etc.), but I imagine that it's out there and just hasn't tricked into the parts databases yet.

Thanks. Would have been good if I had looked under "Fuel and Air" and not under "Engine." :-|

I put a K&N washable filter in when I couldn't get the stock filter anywhere, and the stock one was getting pretty dirty. Finally after a three month wait, a dealership I'd ordered a stock filter at last year got a few in stock. Strange times.

Odd they all seem to have parts to continue building new vehicles yet not to support the ones they already built on a scheduled maintenance interval. Oil filters, oil, fuel filters, air filters intake and cabin…

I work in manufacturing and can say that it is two different supply chains for new build vs. service support. Both have their separate planning and different lead time support. When there is a shortage with a supplier that supplies both sides, manufacturing 9 times out of 10 will get priority over end user customer support. They rather have a handful of customers waiting on parts than idling a manufacturing plant with thousands of employees deferred waiting.

Like Hootbro said (and has already been discussed and debunked) - totally different animals.
Besides, you can plan manufacturing and contract for it much more easily than the maintenance of same. So you stock up shelves with filters and other replacement parts and a pandemic comes along and the stuff sits........ because no one is driving.

They absolutely aren't one and the same. Parts are sometimes different and the packaging is different, very different animals. On some electric parts I can show other differences - in finishes and coatings in some cases.
