You'll have to get it recalibrated regardless of the order in which you do the two tasks, correct? As has been noted throughout other parts of this forum, you may want to invest in your own module/app (Tazer Mini, etc.) to undertake the calibration yourself. My experience was that I had to try out 4-5 different tire sizes within the Tazer Mini until the speedo was correctly calibrated - what I mean to say is, it would suck to pay someone to do the calibration, only to find it's wrong or even slightly off. Trust me - simply selecting a tire size (within a module or app) won't guarantee calibration; it takes some playing around with to get it right.
Right I’m with you. I guess my question is really will I cause any harm to the vehicle driving it with 35 inch tires without a lift for a day?

I reckon only putting them on will tell -

Hello! I have a 2021 gladiator and want to upgrade the tires. I really don’t want to do a lift at this time but will probably add spacers to change the profile. Current tires are 255/70r18, can I put on 35x12.5x18r tires without having to do a lift and using the stock rims?

35x12.5r17 falken wildpeak MT01 bone stock JT... even with a standard sport I don’t see 3/4” on both sides making them rub... however I don’t know if there are any other differences in the suspension (besides springs, shocks, and 1.5” wider MT diffs.) that would affect fitment... I don’t rub with my sway bars connected.

You're going to get different opinions on the tire size. I've seen up to 35s and reportedly no rub. You can definitely do a 285/7

The 285/70/18 worked on the stock suspension?

I think I know what you asked here, but put the question in the quote.

They worked fine on the stock overland suspension, but it I never really flexed it out till I swapped over a take off Rubicon LE suspension. I’m sure it was fine, but the Rubicon suspension did raise the front a few inches. I got 50k miles out of my Revo 3s in that configuration before I recently had to swap them out because I ran over a bolt. In the road and they were down to 5/32.

I ended up with 295/70/R18 REVO3's (approx 34.5") on a stock 2020 Overland suspension and wheels.........
NO rubs inside, outside, lock to lock.
Could have gone a little wider and taller and still been fine.

I added a 1.5” Teraflex leveling kit with 275/70/18 KO2’s on stock overland wheels.

I have a couple of posts about the Goodyear Duratrac RT , they have just over 12K miles on them and I could not be happier. I will buy these RTs until something better is developed. I have owned several A/T tires over the past 25 years (General Grabber ATX, Mickey Thompson EXP, BFG KOs, Hankook Dynapro, ProComp AT Sport, to name a few) The size I have in the RTs (p275/65/18) works out to just over 32 inches and I am happy with the appearance on the stock Overland wheels. The LT285/70/17 to fit most factory 17 inch wheels is just a tad under 33 inches. The LT285/65/18 is also a 33 inch, and the LT285/65/20 is a 35 inch. From what I can find on the Goodyear site, the 33-35 inch sizes are only available in the LT series which will be a bit heavier than the slightly smaller p series sizes. I didn’t want to lose any mpg and acceleration with the heavier tires since my Overland has 3:73 gears. In anything with 4:10 gearing, the LT tires should be fine. I hope this is helpful.

I would just buy take off rubi or Mojave wheels and tires. In many cases will most likely be able to buy essentially brand new take off wheels and tires for the same price if not cheaper than it would be to get a new set of tires and have to pay to get them mounted and balanced.

I just bought 295/70/R18 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent tires (approx 34.5") on a stock 2020 Overland suspension and wheels......... I had REVO3's, but they are no longer available......
And just like the REVO's, NO rubs inside, outside, lock to lock.
They are incredibly SMOOTH & QUIET on the highway, yet still keeping a rugged "JEEP" look for a tire! I can already tell I'm going to love them more than the REVO3's. And I was super happy with those!
