Due to the GINORMOUS key FOB, any recommendations on a faraday pouch/box I could use when out and about? I have a box I keep the key in at home, while the Gladiator is in the garage. Would like something to carry and put in when in a restaurant or at ju-jitsu class.

Not my favorite but it is useful and good excersize. I was a 2nd black in a Chinese kung fu. My daughter is in class as well, like to see her come out of her shell some with it.

Started in 1975 earned my black in 1979 before enlisting.
He taught the traditional way .He ran his class teaching the same to all belts not just focusing on one group.
AIKIDO is a good form for not only females but gives them more control. Go with the flow

I'm with the other two members that mentioned Ravelco. You will have to physically take the truck, it won't ever drive off on its own without that unique "key"

So sorry to hear about this ordeal, what a pita! People can suck sometimes!!

I apologize if I missed it, but out of curiosity, was your glove box locked? I thought I remember reading in another "stolen" thread that in their case, opening the glove box was attempted (it was clear as the handle was broke off), but the thieves were unsuccessful. That said, the truck was still stolen via the OBD port. Since reading that, I've been in the habit of keeping my glovebox locked (though I realize its only a cheap plastic lock, its no Brinks safe here lol), and have installed an OBD port lock. Last night I also hid a few modified/silenced apple airtags. Next up are some Rugged Ridge hood locks, a kill switch and the last piece for me is going to be the tazer so I can do the pin lock.

I agree with one of the prior comments, someone should develop some provision to "lock" the CAN BUS ports that are behind the glove box (and any others available throughout the truck).
Love to see the pix and how the install goes on the hood locks. I was just looking at the RedRock locking hood latch as an option.

You could rap a chain around the jeep hood put that wont stop them from stealing your jeep
They do NOT need access to under the hood to steal your jeep
They brake you window and access your can buss / OBD or clone you key fob
As little as 3 minutes and your jeep is gone

Bolt hood lock. Need a 1/4 " rivet gun for the install but it learns and mates to your factory key so big win there.. Had to cut the plastic grill a bit and if I get a black grill I will just use my chisels. When cleaning up my cuts found they went through it like butter.

I live in Delaware and my rates are at most 30% of what they list for being a state average. I will admit I have to fire my insurance company every 2-3 years and shop elsewhere because they all take advantage of their low risk customers over time.
I live in Florida... my rates are ~50% what they list, but like you, only because I wind up switching every 2-3 yrs due to their "unavoidable rate increase" bullshiznit.

Hello Everyone,

I've been reading these forums since before I bought my truck, and I'm beyond disappointed that my first post is on this topic. I bought my Mojave brand new at the end of November and absolutely loved it. Had a JL before that, but really wanted the versatility of the pickup. On Saturday, I went outside to load up the truck to head to some family parties, but my truck was gone. I've filed the police report, insurance claims for both auto and renters (for the property inside) and have also contacted SiriusXM Guardian who are trying to get a ping on it this week. If I had to bet, it's gone forever, probably in a shipping container oversees, with all GPS tech disabled. It's been 3 days and I still really can't believe it. I had just made my first payment on it 2 days prior to it disappearing.

I wanted to post for a few reasons. First, to raise the awareness. I had read a few posts here about stolen trucks, and of course I had heard about all the Kias and Hyundais getting stolen over the recent years, but of course I figured it was still such a slim chance that it could happen to me. Then it did. I don't know how it was taken. Could have been a cloned key fob, they could have popped the latches on my hood to disable electrical components, or they could have towed it for all I know. I've read a ton of info in the last 3 days, and I will 100% be increasing security on my next vehicle. Sadly, as much as I want to replace my JT, I'm afraid that it would be targeted again, since it was taken from my home. Very scary thought. May have to settle for another vehicle for now until we think about moving.

I'd also like to hear any thoughts or feedback if I'm missing any steps that could help my situation. Whether that's helping to locate my truck, preventative measures I can take next time, or tips for negotiating a Final Loss value with my insurance. Again, it was BRAND NEW, so I am extremely stressed that I will lose money in this process. I know that the vehicle depreciated when I drove it off the lot, but I am hoping to not be stuck way behind the 8 ball when having to replace it. if anyone has been through this process, I'd appreciate any insight. My saving grace is that I got such a great deal on it with all the incentives in November, plus negotiating. But still, I am worried that the valuation will be low, assessing it as a "slightly used" vehicle. So far, insurance has been helpful, but I know those conversations are right around the corner.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm so sorry for whats happened to you. It sucks to work hard for something nice and then have it taken from you with little to no recourse.

I keep mine in a garage ( I know not everyone can do that )
I also have Tazer mini JL with a programed kill switch pin. (IE wont start unless you input a pin via series of button clicks on the steering wheel)
If I have to leave it somewhere where i think someone can bypass the tazer. I leave it in a very open area and unplug the MAF sensor and throttle body.

The more time you force someone to waste stealing your truck, the more likely they will give up and move on to an easier target.

Also GAP insurance. I always get it.

A few recommendations... went from a Wrangler to a JT recently and I'm just east of Toronto, where there is crazy high vehicle theft rates and the useless government to boot.

1. Install a hood lock (The bolt or latches. I did both, just for shits and giggles. They're relatively cheap)
2. Move your horn wires behind the bumper
3. Use a Tazer or JSCAN to enable the alarm trigger on the hood opening
4. Buy a $5 12v switch off Amazon and wire it to your start button. You can even buy harnesses online that you don't have to do any cutting ( Jeep Wrangler All Models 1 Kill Switch Kit - JW² Innovations (jw2innovations.com) - This is the one I used, no affiliation. Worked great)
5. Always park in a well-lit area or locked garage at home if possible
6. Like others have said, if I'm feeling extra paranoid about where I'm leaving the vehicle. I pull the starter fuse

Other than that... just layer it up like everyone else says. The kill switch is the best bet by far in my opinion, you can't see any of the wires and hide it in a random spot. The vehicle won't go out of ACC mode until it's switched. The only way they're getting it is by finding the kill switch or towing it.

I have the exact same ride and people come to me and ask if I’m interested in selling. So sorry to hear, friend.

I have the forward facing camera so the Bolt lock would be hard to install. I got the Gen 2 Rugged Ridge locks which seem solid. They are aluminum and can be adjusted so they close smoothly but the hood can't be pushed down any more, making them more secure. Hopefully their barrel type key/lock would be harder to pick/bypass than the traditional key type.
