Hey everyone,

My truck has been flawless but randomly at 19k or so miles it started to make wheezing or spinning noise when starting up. This lasted maybe 15 min and everything went back to normal. I couldn't catch it on video or even prove it was happening.... until last night when it happened again for like 10 min before going away.

Any idea what it can be ? TIA

What he said above - sounds like the starter is sticking just a tad too long.

Another vote for starter. Usually one of the more reliable things on this platform.

Verdict from the Dealership:

Spent 2 days trying to replicate the problem, truck has no codes and the dealership has no idea what to do.

So Im SOL until something actually breaks. nice.

Yeah I would also be so concerned I brrought my perfectly working vehicle in for service without a rental.

I'm so very concerned of a noise.

Why are there so many car hypocondriacs on this forum?

LMAO what are you even talking about. :CWL: the concern is valid and your opinion, is not lol

If you have nothing helpful to add then begone lol

I'm curious, if someone said that sound was normal would you actually have listened? Why would we know what the sound is if your own dealer cant diagnose it?

Drop it off at the dealer and continue to waste your time and everyone else who's trying to get legit problems resolved. Or drive it and stop complaining.

Can you take it to another dealer?
If this was my issue, Iā€™d grab a mechanicā€™s stethoscope and locate the starter and have someone else start it up repeatedly until I found where itā€™s coming from. The stethoscope is your friend and you could find the source of this in minutes if not seconds.

Not sure if starting it up via remote starter is possible with the hood up though.

This sound isnā€™t normal and your only option isnā€™t to just hope it breaks. If you lived in Calgary Iā€™d help you find it.
