Stuck in 3rd gear?

So, My gladiator was at the body shop for work. Accident in April and driven 5,000 miles afterwards while awaiting body parts [covid/ supply B.S.] No mechanical issues. Got a call Friday that the Jeep was flatbed towed to the dealership because the manual trans is stuck in third gear? It will shift, it will start with the clutch engaged. But no matter what gear the shifter is moved into it is in third gear? I don't even believe that this is mechanically possible and I have yet to see it for myself........ Awaiting a call from the body shop with more information.

While the body shop had it a shift cable came off the shifter. The dealer said it was from the accident but I drove the Gladiator from April until August waiting for parts with no issue. Insurance paid for that. Of course while it was there the dealership "preformed" the clutch recall. Once I got it back I had no reverse camera or lights.............
