Considering a sunrider from Bestop and have a few questions and looking for opinions from those with them.

Does this make it a pain to go fully topless? I assume you'd have to take it off first then the rear roof, which sounds like a pain.

Can you still go without doors (I assume yes)?

I just got a cab cover off amazon planning for spring summer. I had planned on going topless/doorless for longer periods and covering it at night. Am I better served this route?

Yes, to remove the rest of the roof, you'll also have to remove your BestTop as it screws into the main roof at the rear where they meet.

EDIT...Okay, as I was typing, the person above showed a pic of theirs with no roof and just the SunRunner. So, it can be done ;)

I LOVE mine in that I can simply open the roof up and be like a convertible but, when I get to my destination, it's a simple pull over and latch to lock up the vehicle or if it commences to raining while I'm out and about, pull over, pull it closed and latch it and continue on. The Freedom Panels, while nice, are a pain in the butt as you have to store them in the bag in the bed and it takes fo'evah to get them in and out...and if you simply take them out, leave them home, and it commences to pouring rain, yer screwed.

I put my Freedom Panels back in for the winter but, come spring, it's the SunRunner again for the summer.

Thats what I am thinking as well, i suppose the cab cover can still be a good idea if i roll without the doors for extended periods.

It's simple. You take the Sunrider bolts out and slide it forward to gain access to the hard tops front bolts. Remove the hard top and shift it back into place, reinstall the bolts. Done.
Ten minutes.
Nice, ten minutes isn't bad. I think i was about 20 minutes all in stripping it down the 2 times last summer (never really timed it).

And it doesnt look too goofy with just the sunrider left in place.

Thanks!!

Hot Tip!! Look in Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, or even Craigslist for a "Jeep" labeled take-off.

I have no idea where they come from but I was able to get mine from Facebook Marketplace for $200. I met the seller at a gas station and showed up wearing a Mopar Service uniform. He installed it for me in about two minutes. That was almost a year ago. Since then I have sent four different friends to him and they all had the same experience, but the price keeps increasing. I think the last guy paid $350.

These are labeled "Jeep", not Bestop.

Yeah. It looks fine, and if there's too much sun you can quickly block some.

Sounds like he's in the parts department and is embezzling parts and then fencing them himself honestly.

Just do it. A sunrider is probably my #2 favorite purchase for my gladiator (behind only doorless mirrors) and I've spent a lot of money on this thing so it's not exactly #2 out of a small list.

Freedom panels are nice enough, but there's a lot of hemming and hawing about whether it's worth the effort to take them off each time. Clouds look dark? Better not. Sun is beating down like crazy and don't want to park the jeep with the seats getting superheated? Better not. Driving to work and don't want to be "that guy" doing your whole freedom top dance in the work parking lot? Better not.

A sunrider solves all of these scenarios, AND MORE!

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. Though I don't have not had a ton of luck finding them locally.

He said they are "take offs" from some dealer package that comes with both tops. He says that they won't show a new Jeep with a soft top on it. I am betting if you look, you will find a listing for one now in Glendale, AZ.

Post a link if you can, I'd be interested to see if he'd ship. I searched FB but no luck.
