I also put a bit of protection behind my HA...

Looks just like our Billet silver HA. Which every time I look at from the rear I get pissed off that they only give you one rear tow hook.
So unbalanced it throws the whole center of gravity off. :swear:

My incident was more of a road rage. He swiped me on the side and tried to take off. Went around a roundabout and I pulled in front of him. He hit me a second time head on and throttled out. Taking out his front end, fender, doors, quarter panel.

All I had was bumper damage and a scratch on my wheel. A small cut on one of my tires. lol

AAA did two different claims screwing me. Even though he was the aggressor. Each hit was a separate claim and I had to pay my deductible twice.

And the Grand Cherokee is even better yet at passenger protection. I've seen those flipped or the front ends crushed from hitting embankments and yet behind the radiator area was not ripped apart and the cabin area was fully intact.

One reason I like Jeep so well is what I've seen of them after accidents (first-hand, not just anecdotal stuff) Jeeps do well and they've had years to make this style of body and frame safe.

The car that hit the OP sort of reminds me of the Ford that hit my son's Eagle. Knocked a tiny piece of trim off his bumper, NO other damage and I had the trim in one of my tubs of spare parts while the little car had to be towed away. I suspect it was totaled. The front was crushed a lot like the one above.
Years ago, my daughter rear ended a Grand Cherokee in a Kia Rio. The Rio sustained thousands of dollars of damage, the Grand Cherokee owner said "HEY! You scratched my bumber!" and laughed at her. In the defense of the Rio, it did what it was supposed to do and the front end absorbed all the damage and kept her safe.

She drives a Cherokee now and her next car is a Grand Cherokee L.

Yeah, the idea is that the Rio is replaceable, your daughter not replaceable.
I think that theory hold water pretty well.
Having seen the results of accidents in years past (I worked for a shop that ran 2 wreckers, 24/7/365 towing and held contracts to tow for the state and city in that area)
Survival often isn't all that great if you have to live the rest of your life in a care facility like a very pretty daughter of my former boss did after being hit in an older car. Danged beautiful girl with a lot of future until that day.
My bet is that even that Kia would have saved her from a life in a home or needing help every day for something.
