I expect this has been addressed 800 times already, but the search function here sucks and I haven't been able to pull up a decent answer. I purchased the Platinum level "Carefree Car Protection" plan from Fidelity; 10y/100k miles. Are there any hard and fast rules when it comes to what suspensions I can install and how I can install them, without invalidating my warranty? Specifically, I'm looking at this:

Much appreciated.

Any hard and fast rules are based on you extended service contract. Magnuson Moss protections are only for original warranties and any additional "extended warranty" is actually not a warranty but a service contract. This is true even of Mopar Maxcare and the like. It's now who you bought it from, it's the fact that it's a paid extra.

What voids a service contract? Whatever the seller wants to void it and puts in the contract in writing. Remember they are in the same business as insurance which is collecting money and not paying out, so any language in the contract which could apply to your situation probably will.

I have an add-on plan too (different than yours). Mine explicitly lays out what lift I can do. If you go past that, you're out of warranty. In-it, you're fine.

If your plan does NOT have explicit rules, I would call a rep and have them tell you, and then I would request that you get their answer in an email record.

To keep full warranty coverage, it is usually recommended to stick with a Mopar lift that is dealer installed. Not that you won't have coverage if you choose otherwise, but it all depends on the dealer and what is outlined in the extended warranty.

Appears that I have to purchase additional "Lift Kit Coverage" in order to maintain coverage due to damages that a lift kit could cause. The following are interesting exclusions.

Exclusions from coverage: this service contract will not pay or reimburse you for: 1. Any loss, damage or expense caused by accidents, any alteration to the vehicle or the covered part, use of oversized or undersized tires or wheels, alteration to the vehicle not authorized by its manufacturer or by a manufacturer-approved installer that causes the manufacturer to deny a factory warranty claim, the failure of any part not covered by this service contract, accidental loss, for a breakdown caused by or involving modifications unless those modifications meet the manufacturer’s specifications (e.g. tires two or more sizes larger or smaller than the manufacturer’s specifications, lift kits (unless lift kit coverage is selected on this service contract), aftermarket performance parts or systems).

So a bit of an obstacle course, that is. I'm going to contact the dealership and get a written concession for what exactly it is that I'm allowed to do. They were the ones that installed my 35" tires after all (and consequently voided the warranty that I hadn't yet purchased from them).
