2024 Gladiator Sport S running stock light truck tires (Bridgestone Duelers) 245 75 R17 on stock 7.5” rims

I found some local Rubicon takeoffs with 1000 miles, wheels and tires. 285 70 R 17 Goodrich AT K02s

What issues will I encounter? The Rubicon tires are slightly lower profile, and wider.

Will TPMS sync up? What else do I need to be thinking about?

It will physically fit without issue or interference.

As to the TPMS, they need to be from a vehicle built after June 7th 2021 to be compatible with your 2024.

Need to also program for tire size change and speedometer adjustment with a tool like JScan or similar.

and an ancillary question, if I opted to still run my stock 17” 7.5” wide rims, can I run 285 70 R17 tires on them without issues? versus the stock 245 75 R17s?

Edit: And you already answered some of that question. Thank you.

Yes, the 7.5" wide factory rims will fit the 285/70/17 tires. What I put on my Sport Steelies when I went from the same sizes as you are looking to do.

Retired. Beach bum.
There are two issues I can think of you might encounter. First being lower mpg, second will be hydroplaning sooner at lower speeds on the highway, especially compared with the Dualer HT tires, that have a high rating for hydroplaning resistance. But better on loose terrain off road.

Considering this is what I did when I first got my Sport S... Mount them and then adjust for the tire size and you are good to go.

I had 255 something on my 21 Willy's. Did the same thing as you. Needed tires and found Rubicon rims with Falken 285/70/17s with 10k miles on them for $350. Could barely buy 2 new tires and have them mounted for that price and even though I wanted 35s, couldn't pass that up. Brought them home, swapped them in 30 minutes and have been fine for 40k miles. Didn't adjust for tire size or do anything else. Did take a mpg hit, but oh well. Tires are still decent, but I am getting ready to pull the spacer lift and replace with either a taller spacer lift or a full lift and some skinny 34s or 35s. Will adjust computer for tire size this go around.

I’m in Boone NC tonight. Stopped by RubiTrux to see about any wheel/tire take offs they might have. They have ten 392 Hemi conversions in JLUs on the lot.
