Here are some observations.
1. The jt is way nicer with tech, but that is only due to the package. If all was equal would be the same. With that going from the 5 inch to 8.4 made a much larger difference than I thought!

2. Truck bed is useful, already filled it.

3. I know I have sacrificed some off road performance, but the hardest thing I do is badge of honor trails lated 5 to 7 (Imogene). Jt can probably handle that, but not as easily bad the jl. Jl definitely wins here.

4. Jl turns much tighter radius. Much. I will miss that feature.

5. Jt rides a lot better. Longer wheel base is a big help. Jt is also quieter, likely due to hardtop.

6. Back seats of jt are better. They fold multiple ways, giving some really good storage!

All in all, very happy. If I was more hardcore off road, jl probably best. But I did 45k miles in 2 years. Most were definitely on pavement. With that, the jt is going to make more sense for comfort and versatility.

I did the same. Ordered a JT Rubicon Diesel on 5/8/2021, sold my 2018 JLU Sahara on 5/29, picked up the delivered Rubicon on 6/8.

Looking at doing the same, purchase a Gladiator Diesel. What axles, battery and alternator came with yours? Did you get any tow package?

Trying to make sense of what comes with what trims and packages. Stallantis, dealers and websites have some conflicting information.

Mine has Dana 44s, from and rear. All gladiators do I think. Battery and alternator are upgraded with the tow package. The Anni is its own quick order package, on top of that it has cold weather, tow, active safety group.

If tow/capacity is what you want, diesel is odd. It has the lowest payload. Sport s max tow is the way to go if towing is most important.

Yeahhhh, a new convert! Enjoy your convertible pickup. I pick convenience and practicality over a slightly shorter wheel base and having a “real Jeep” (aka Wrangler). I’m still basking in the sunshine like the rest of you fools.:sun:

Towing is only a side consideration. Looking more toward praticle and fun. Commited to the diesel, trying to decide on the Sport S and doing a modest build or I’ll just send it and go Rubi. Was really wondering if the diesel Sport S come with the wide track axles? Guess its just a Rubi/Mojave/Max tow option.

I think the diesel does not. If money didn't matter, Rubicon would be it. But it does, and the daily aspect won out, as the creature comforts I use every day.
