If I had an automatic, and if I had a Tazer, I would play with the tire size parameter and the rear end gear ratio parameter to see if I could get the JT to shift where I wanted.
I have the Flashcal and have already adjusted the tire size. Don’t know enough about the gear ratio to mess with that. Would probably mess something up.

The problem is that the patterns aren't anywhere near linear with all the various inputs -they're a several-dimensional map. The crappy shifting without reprogramming is because the computer can't figure out what is going on; the truck isn't behaving as is expected given the inputs. By reprogramming, you correct the tire input and the controller's calculations work more accurately.
