I'm torn. I would really like to get a Gladiator but can't figure out what trim will best suit my needs. My preference would be to get the Rubicon but the price really runs up quickly if you want any options. It seems that I can get a nicely equipped Overland for 7-10k cheaper and have leather, premium features, etc.

My use will mainly be daily driver, tow my boat to the lake, family vehicle. I'm wondering if down the road I will regret not getting the Rubicon with the wide track axles, 4.10, etc, etc. I think the support for the Gladiator will be great and the most I would probably go would be to put 35's on the Jeep, just a little curious how the drivetrain would handle that with only 3.73's. I see that you can't even get 3.73's on the JL so I don't have any data points there. It would be nice to be able to take the Gladiator trail riding, nothing too extreme but I do enjoy off roading. I had a JKUR for 5 years and I've had numerous Jeeps through the years (XJ, WJ, WK2, JKUR, 52' M38 which I still have). I kind of like the luxury touches of the Overland (Leather, tech features, etc). But can't decide.

Obviously, the Overland offers a few things you can’t get on the Sport S, but keep in mind that the Sport S does allow for the Max Tow package that includes the wide axles and 4.10 gears.

Based off what you want you should do either Sport S with 4.10, tech, conv, leather upgrade or Rubicon.

By the time you spec out a sport s or overland, you're not far from a rubi. may as well jump...

Given your needs, as I see it, the Rubicon has a bunch of expensive, heavy duty offroad/rock crawling upgrades you will never use. If you are doing only occassional, light off roading, obviously just about any jeep will do. I mean, it's a Jeep - soooooo.....

Now I will also say that if you WANT it and you can afford it, buy it. You don't ever have to use it's full capability. Maybe you just like the hood, the graphics and the knowledge that if you ever need it, that ability is there. That is your choice and you don't have to explain it to anyone.

Be happy!

I noticed on the build tool max tow comes with molded in color fender flares does that mean color matched to truck?

I believe the Overland is rated to tow 6000 lbs, the Rubicon 7000 and the Sport S with max tow 7650, the decision may depend on what your boat weighs. The towing capacity is what is keeping me from choosing the Overland, oh and the damn all season tires.

No. It is bad wording in my opinion. But the molded in color fender flares are the dark plastic ones.
