Tailgate leakage - waterproofing with gaskets

Has anyone put some gaskets on their tailgate to “waterproof“ them? I’m tired of the water coming in when power washing the truck. A little water is alright but it seems it pours in. Pictures on what you have done would be great.

I’m assuming you have some sort of bed cap or topper. You can get some of the same weatherstripping that came with your bed cap to go around the tailgate I believe. I get some intrusion because I drilled a hole in mine for a camera cable but nothing horrendous that concerns me.

Otherwise, the side seals and the lower seals I did both on my 22 and 25 - I was tired of the DUST getting in on trails and gravel roads, and the snow getting in via the bottom gap in the winter.

I don’t have any pictures, I just used a ‘D’ shaped rubber molding that was adhesive backed. I was trying to keep the road dust out. But also works for water. There are some good sized gaps to fill. The stuff I used was 5/8 - 3/4”, off Amazon

Basically what I did... However I never seen the bridge gap seal. Kinda cool

I used the same seal for desert dust and sand.
