Tailgate lock issue

Greetings! I new here and haven't found any threads really looking at this... I have a 2020 Overland and the power lock nor the manual key lock will engage on my tailgate. This is what I have found...in the photo part "B", pivoting at point "X" will slide under part "A" and will not lock. If anyone has identified this before please let me know how you addressed this. Thanks in advance.

There was a 'Customer Satisfaction Notice' (i.e., voluntary recall) on the tailgate actuator. I do not know if it applies to power or just manual locks, but it might be worth checking out for your ride. The recall number is 'ZE2'

I have a manual lock and mine did that. Part B was not fully engaged on the pivot point X. I took it off and reseated it and it has worked properly since. Might be worth a try. The lock mechanism doesn't really scream precision.

There was a recall ZE2, but it didn't include 2020 models, but they had the same problem as you, check with a dealer. I attached a photo of another owners over cycled B mechanism.

Mine wouldn’t lock from factory. I adjusted that rod and took care of it.
