installed an updated Tazer mini into a 2022 JT and nothing. The push to start does nothing, no “push brake to start” message nothing. Any idea of what’s going on here?

Does it work if you unplug the tazer and plug everything back the way it was?

I’ll definitely be watching this.
Just got a ‘22 and have been thinking about the tazer mini…

It does. In fact once I unplug just one of the wires the dashboard comes back to life and the door dinger starts up

If you're sure you're plugging it in right, I'd contact zautomotive and see if they can send you a new tazer! Maybe you got a bad one. Can you post a picture of your install? Are you certain the tazer is fully seated?

I’m sure it was installed correct. It’s pretty dummy proof since the cables only plug in one way and then snap locks. I may contact z automotive or just return. I was hoping someone else has had this issue and got around it.

Do you get a blinking light on the Tazer when you plug it in to your computer using the USB cable?

I can’t really remember. I did successfully download and install the latest update with no issues. But that was a few weeks ago and I just tried to install it in the gladiator today.

Did you follow the directions EXACTLY? You configured those features thru the dash menus and then did the required reboots and sleep cycles?

I don't think he is even getting that far. Sounds like his entire dash is dead while Tazer is plugged in.

Interested in this. I have a 22 and was about to order the Tazer Mini but wanted someone to confirm it works on 22s

That’s correct. Once I plug in the Tazer everything but the off indicator on the push to start button goes out and is unresponsive. As I unplug the taze everything lights up as soon as I unplug the first cable from it.

I've got a new Tazer and a new 22.
Unfortunately I haven't had time to install it. I have updated the firmware and that went off smoothly.

I'll get to int on Tuesday so can provide one datapoint at that time.

Great I’d like to know if it’s just mine or what. I may install it in my wife’s gladiator. It’s a 2021 model. I was going to check if they changed something in the 22 that disabled the Tazer.

My bet is you got a bad tazer.

That's my bet also.

Its a $5 piece of hardware. What you are paying for is the intellectual property associated with the software contained in that $5 dongle.
