Car play Bluetooth that’d be nice
Standard on 2024 forward.

My ask isn't that difficult:

A tan top. I'd buy a white one and slap a Scrambler stripe on the side so fast...

Jokes aside, I find this interesting. I'm not a hardcore Jeep dude nor do I know or care anything about "Stellantis".

I am a hardcore musician dude though, and yall's collective gripes are very similar to what we gripe about in the music industry.

One example: Gibson guitars. A company like Gibson is known for a few things, but most notably, the Les Paul. Any time Gibson tinkers with making a Les Paul more palatable for the unwashed masses the purists freak the fuck out. How dare you mess with the Les Paul!!!! The very people that already own multiple Les Pauls and probably aren't buying new ones anyway are losing their minds over the audacity of Gibson to try to appeal to new customers. Make models that appeal to potential new/inexperienced customers, or keep making the same thing for the old farts. It's a Catch 22 that Gibson will never escape. Me? I buy used. I love Gibson guitars. I have seven of them. But they never get my actual money.

Same with Marshall amps. The script Marshall logo on an amplifier is about as rock and roll as it gets. The venerable "Marshall stack" standing at the back of a stage giving everyone in a 4 mile radius permanent hearing damage is like a monolith altar to the gods of rock and roll. It's never not impressive. But not many people can actually utilize a full stack...or even a half stack. And like Gibsons, Marshalls are expensive and stuck in their own history. Whenever they try something new, it's a fail. Marshall hasn't made a successful new amp model since the 90s. Why? Purists. The very people that love Marshalls simply will not let them win. So what does Marshall do? They keep making the same old (and truly amazing) amps they always have and supplement themselves with "lifestyle" shit like Bluetooth speakers and headphones, which are actually very successful for them.

The moral? I'm not sure. I guess it's just to say that you guys bitching won't get you anywhere. My guess is they're not trying to sell you crusty hardened offroaders your 9th Jeep. They're trying to sell new customers their first Jeep. That requires new tech and bells and whistles that regular people actually like. A soccer mom that likes the look of a new Wrangler Sport isn't gonna rip the suspension out as soon as she gets home. She wants to play her spotify playlist and have heated seats. You hardcore types can and always have made do, and to their credit, Jeeps are still the ultimate tweakable customizable vehicle and they still have have bad ass capabilities under all that tech.

So more options? Old school line and new buyer line! They are trying to now keep up with Bronco and the new Scout so new stuff will be out to beat them

I mean they kind of do that already.

When you try to appeal to everyone you usually end up really pleasing no one. Someone is always gonna bitch and everyone thinks their opinion matters.

I personally like the idea of a stripped down, no frills, I mean zero frills, limited model for the hardcores. But how many will they realistically sell? For every 100 Jeeps, how many actually see dirt, sand, and rocks? Not many. And I don't mean driving up a rural gravel driveway. I mean actual wheelin'. But who wants to pay 50 grand or more for something that they're immediately gonna modify and bash to pieces? They'll just buy a used one, yeah?

I always laugh how the gladiator really has two engine options and both are v6.

I wouldn't mind a stepside either. Basically bring back the Honcho with a V8 and a manual transmission and I'd be thrilled. I'd also prefer an interior that was simple, waterproof so you could hose it out and not worry about electronics or leather. If they want to make fancy interiors for soccer moms that's great, but leave me a YJ dash with an interior I'd be happy to let my muddy dogs crawl around in.

This actually exists for 2025 with JK/JL
Which is why it should exist for the JT. Those parts are interchangeable.

But that would make too much sense for STLA. I'm still surprised they haven't just twinned all the trims between the JL/JLU and the JTexcept the Mojave by now to "save money."

Everyone says 392. I wouldn’t or won’t buy one, they’re to expensive in my opinion. The price increase is insane. Hell, I won’t pay what they want for a new JT Mojave or Rubicon with a V6, too much money for what you’re getting in my opinion. To each their own. Ergo I bought a used 2021 JT Mojave for less than 40k.
I would be elated if they would just put a 5.7 in a no frills stripped down version at a good price. With a 5.7 the price increase shouldn’t be that bad, just a few thousand more. While they’re at it add the option for Dana 60’s stock for all Jeep JT’s and Wranglers. In my opinion that would be the perfect start for me and a new JT. To each their own.

  • Fix the Pentastar Tick-of-death cam issue
  • Reinforce rear chassis.
  • Full float axles.
  • General quality and reliability. Go hire someone away from Toyota to figure this out or give us a Hyundai style 100,000 mile 10-year warranty.
  • Lower prices. Jeeps are supposed to be cheap fun for the the people, not $70,000 luxury vehicles.
  • Stop dicking owners when they have a problem clearly caused by an engineering or build fault. I just had to get new seals on my Freedom Top and the dealer swore up, down, and sideways there's no problem with leaking tops and there's not TSB - yet the new seals are clearly a different profile.
  • FFS figure out your corrosion issues. How is it that my 3 year old truck has rust bubbles under the paint - something that took almost 18 years to develop on the Nissan it replaced. (The body shop I took it to said it looks like the parts were handled without gloves after cleaning but before paint and the skin oils got trapped under the paint, causing rust. That's just laziness at the factory and the crap I'd expect from British Leyland in 1972.)
Go buy a TJ and compare it to a first or second year production JL. Why does my LJR, which is approaching "classic car" status, not have any of the problems of my JT? It's got no rust despite living in the mountains and salt most its life. The engine just works all the time, it's rugged, it's reliable.

Bring back the V8 without the tech and forced options throughout the line up and a Cummins instead of a French diesel.
The diesel is Italian.

The transmission is German.
Now if we can just get some Japanese build quality, together we can invade Poland.
