It sucks that FCA is so greedy with the JT. If the price is that high, it will be in the same range as a discounted 2019 Ram Rebel Crew Cab with a Hemi V8. I've seen some Rebels selling at $42-45k and that may push me to a Ram. I'll miss the topless/doorless Jeep but much more width, payload and better cabin may be impossible to pass up.
They are priced too high, I agree, but I want a mid sized truck, with decent economy (3.0 CRD) and a top & doors that come off. And I really just want a Jeep, but my rugged outdoorsy lifestyle will be well served by a little truck. Plus towing capacity if I ever up-size my little pop up trailer. (My preferred mode is my roof top, but kids like to bring friends).

With the pricing for the regular Ranger topping out at around $48k, I'm guessing the Ranger Raptor is gonna be a lot more pricey than the $50k folks have been expecting - especially if the first year or two is as high-demand as the original Raptor was. All of a sudden that makes a $50k JT seem less crazy.

Yea but the Diesel Rubi is going to be pushing $60K so I dont think it will be all the much off. Only thing is the JT is not limited so I bet you will get incentives which the Raptors will never have.

Dang guys, ya’ll keep raising the price and all I can get will be a plastic toy JT from Hasbro!
Might end up being you and I both if the price is that high. My fall back is to get a JLUR if the JT is priced out of my budget. Actually found a base JLUR locally for 39K. No options, soft top and a 6-speed but good enough for my needs.

Billy, that is a pretty good deal. I talked my local dealer I have purchased a few Jeep's from down to 39K out the door for a factory order JLUR. Hoping to get the same breaks with the JT when its released.

Beaten to death in another thread...price gouging likely for sure. Just don't load up on silly, useless options.

I'm not sure why people keep talking "fully loaded" price points...or are surprised about "$65K fully loaded" numbers flying around.

A "fully loaded" JL Wrangler is $59K MSRP; add a Diesel engine charge ($4K) and an assumed upcharge for a JT over a JL ($2K) and its easy to hit $65K MSRP

HOWEVER...

- dealer invoice is $1,000s below MSRP

- people are routinely buying at 6.5% below INVOICE price

- who are these people ordering a JLs "fully loaded"

- who pays full MSRP (or more) on a fully loaded vehicle

To put in perspective, if someone wanted to they could get a Honda Odessey "fully loaded" at $52K MSRP. But do you think many Odesseys leaving the showroom +$20K over the cost of the base model?

^^No joke. Let's make a investment of tens (hundred?) of millions of US$ to make a statement in the marketplace and not breakeven on our investment in the first few years so we have to cancel the model and blame it on someone else.

I agree it doesn't seem like a wise plan to price them beyond the reach of most consumers. But again, who knows maybe the 45K starting price is for the Rubicon variant. I can wish at least.

Don't they know they make way more money on service and repairs than they do on a new vehicle? Kinda like the coke dealer that gives the first one away free or close to cost.... once you get someone hooked you've got'em for life and these vehicles will definitely need repairs based on the tech and the way they will be driven! Way more $$ to be made after the initial sale.
