As you know from past posts, I'm ol', grumpy, and smell like ol' Brussel Sprouts.

Really ol' Brussel Sprouts.

I'm a cheap bastage too.

This past Fall you folks guided me trough the ESS battery change. The house did not burn down, no fire, no sparks.

Toady was a erl and flipper change, and I thought I'd tackle the battery swap.

Holey Carp, it was bought in October 2019, how long to these batteries last, after hearing some "Stranded" stories.

Based on yer guidance put in 94R with 850 CCA to replace the 700 CCA stocker.

Surprised the battery blanket fit over that monstah of a battry!

Popped it in and it started.

Ol' grumpy smelly Overlord is a happy pumpkin.

Thanks fer the guidance and help folks.

New fella was charged prior to install, have it on the trickle whilst I tidy up.

August will be 5 years on my batteries. I'm also contemplating new batteries or new battery with aux delete. Hate to fix what ain't broken, but don't want to be stranded either

Had my original load tested, and the tester said, "Ah it's pretty good ......."

That didn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling on my ol' Brussel Sprouts.

internet is a funnel where all stories, real or self-induced, get crunched into one space making it look like every battery will fail, and if it happens, you will be stranded.
Fact is - yeah, batteries fail, Jeep batteries have a higher failure rate than others, but stranded? Not a huge chance. The few that were make sure everyone knows they were stranded and it WILL happen to you.

I think part of the reasons the batteries in Jeeps fail is what I see on how infrequently they are driven, and when they are, it's short drives, generally speaking.

Like I said above - few are actually stranded, but it sure looks like everyone will be if you go by "the internet" and the loudest of those reports.
Some of those stranded were either self-induced, or, they don't understand electrical systems, jump starting and so on. Can it happen? Sure, it can. Is it common or likely? No.
This is the internet. 'The misinformation stupid-highway', as my former boss used to call it.

My wife's Jeep had both batteries test bad - and yet I could EASILY, and I mean, easily, jump start it.

As for "one killing the other" - with a short, yeah, could happen, but there's also the bit about mean time between failures, and a chance one was already getting weak or going south by the time the other one did.
We bought 6 CAD workstations for our drafting department when I worked at Compressor Controls Corp. One guy reported his monitor went dead after about 5 years. A week later, another one went bad, a month or so later, another one, and a few weeks later, all 6 were bad. They had all been turned on and left on, all had been used in the same way, all exposed to the same everything.

Not part of THAT internet........ I don't subscribe to the bunk spread around or the crap you read on too many forums. I work to correct that stuff.
I guess you don't get the use of quotes?

but you are on the internet like all of us. Granted I assume your knowledge to be true. But still you are quick to dismiss internet info when you indeed are part of it. You do not see the irony here?
