Well the BRP and EBay offers above look just in time for some, and long overdo for others but if you want have some fun with a hacksaw , washer and a machine shaft collar you can do these for about 3 dollars a side. I'll post ugly pics later. Some of the posts on this forum showing this home mod show either the JL or possible the JK visor and the JT is slightly different. Glad the aftermarket stepped up. The 29.99 is more then my dealer charges for 1 visor ( but the kit looks to repair two sides??). Good options eitherway.

Another find, I's be curious if these 3 options on this thread will hold up better than addressing the fix from the top side?? I wonder if the trim screw won't fail eventually.

Hokey and rough, ain't no tech writer or photog. Damn strong, 3 bucks. 6MM or 5/16 shaft collar and 1 washer.
1 - shows the broken part, snip and dispose.
2- shows same, I trimed 3/8 off the metal shaft plastic and flush on the left trim piece.
3- Shows before cut on the trim piece
4 - Shows before cut on the shaft
5 - shows after timing the shaft, hacksaw, careful, slow. Might have used a vice with padding??
6 - Trim piece cut flush, hack job but done.
7 - Bought 4 packages only used the shaft collar ( and a washer).
8- Finished product. Been in the truck 2 months now and I use the visor northbound in the AM and southbound in the PM, 7 days a week.

This was the second one that broke. Drivers side. 5 year old grand daughter broke the passenger side last year but hey, she loves this truck!

There's so many ways to fix that thing it's silly. Most of the ways make it stronger, better than it was, less likely to break again.
If mine ever does break, unless it's covered under warranty by my dealer, I'll fix it. I have many dozens of drawers full of hardware from years of fabricating things.
Dremel (two of them) and countless attachments, no problem.

Above is yet another creative way to fix it and with that metal sleeve riding a washer - where's it gonna go?

well I got the Taccom bracjets in yesterday. Well worth it and just in time. installed on both driver and passenger visors. both simply dropped abd were hanging by wires. The Taccom clips worked perfectly! Well worth it.
