Sorry for the long rant...

I bought some Rubicon wheels and tires for my Sport S without sensors. Before I picked up my truck I ordered new sensors from Extreme Terrain so I could get the wheels ready without tearing down the factory set. I go to install and they sent sensors for a Ford. Shipping those back.

I figured I'll just get my local Discount Tire to do it. I called and asked could we just swap the factory sensors over they said yes but it would cost as much as getting new ones. I asked if they had the right sensors (post June 21 build) they said yes so I agreed. Took the truck over.got new sensors installed and since. They said since the old wheels were in the bed take them out and auto relearn would do the rest. ?

Drove it and no change TPMS light still on. Went back and they said give it a little more time. We were leaving for a trip and I left. Went home and thought let me check pressure before we get on the road. The driver's side front stem was not even seated the only thing holding it in was the air pressure in the tire. I could push it in with my finger. Now; I am pissed!:mad:

Head back over park in the check air lane and went in. One of the shop hands followed me in and told me you can't park there and said I am parking there and I want to see the manager. He again a little more forcefully said you can't park there...to which I said I don't care go get me your Manager.

They re-did the wheel and said if you bring your factory wheels back we will swap out the factory TPMS sensors. (Like I asked in the beginning.) His excuse MOPARs are finicky? They are, but these guys are killing me.

I usually went to Discount Tire at our old place but we moved and the new shop is terrible. Guess I'll have to start driving across town again.

long story short...how hard is it to get sensors that work in this truck? Jeez!

I just ordered 4 new sensors OEM sensors from the dealer and they worked within 1/2 mile of installing the new wheels.

Maybe yours are aftermarket and need to be programmed?

Yes, they used aftermarket and said they programmed them for a 22 Gladiator. But no dice. I'm feeling like my first mistake was going to Discount Tire out of convenience.

Probably too late for you now, but I purchased the new style Mopar sensors reasonably here, and they worked instantly;

OEM Mopar Tire Pressure Sensor #68339096ab | Falls Mopar City

Discount Tire has a pretty good reputation around here, but they really seem to struggle with the new sensors.
That's basically what I ordered from Extreme Terrain initially, and they shipped the wrong thing which started this whole journey. Yep, I generally like Discount Tire...and have used them on a regular basis.

It's not a dig against Discount Tire in general. It just seems that this location is a soup sandwhich. I've tried two times and both times something has been wrong. After they do the swap this week, I feel it would be better to drive across town rather than deal with that particular location again.

I had something similar.I bought a sensors online and installed in my spare. Thought nothing of it untill I did a 5 tire rotation. My front left wouldn't read.I aired tires up and Down., drove weeks and front left would not read. Finally took it to jeep and they looked at it. Told me that 4/5 were not reading and maybe damged from install from the installer... So warranty will be it cover it. So I made an appointment at discount and they got there handy tpms reader and told me the right rear sensor is the wrong frequency (which is the one I bought for the spare). He said they have the one I need and can install it... So now everything works. No programing needed. So I guess try seeing what frequency you need and compare with the frequency you have?

So went back in today to get the factory sensors swapped over. They refunded the purchase price and did a mount and rebalance. All is good, the factory sensors picked up where they left off and the TPMS light is gone.
