I wear the seat belt. Used to be an EMT; over 50% of accidents happen within a 5 mile radius of your home.
U could always move to a new house further then.

I wear my seat belt 100% of the time when I'm driving in Maryland. When I'm up in the mountains of PA on the dirt roads I don't wear it. Not everyone lives in a place where they are driving particularly fast or where there are even other vehicles.
It's hard to live more rural than I am. But we got deer, and bears, so even without cars...

Sure, if I go on the hard road and I'm going fast then I put on my seat belt. I'm not anti seat belt. People just need to chill out a bit.

There are sooo many more things that can go wrong in the human body from day to day that can injur or kill us. Seatbelt should be our choice. We aren't hurting anyone else by personally not wearing it.

That being said, the video that was posted on page 1....does anyone know if this trick works permanently, or do you have to sit there and plug/unplug 4 times every single time you have to drive somewhere? I haven't taken delivery yet so i cant test this out.

I can't say that I've ever heard the beeping. I'm buckled all the time. With two young kiddos and a wife that I don't want to leave anytime soon it's not worth the risk to me. I'm an excellent driver, but you can't count on others, nor deer or the unexpected.

I paid $350 or so for my runner for my Jk. I bought a Tazer for my Gladiator. If all they did was turn off the seat belt beeper I would say it was worth it.

I usually put the jeep in cruise control, stand on the seat with the top off and steer with my foot. That incessant beeping really messes up the sweet beats from the sheep sounding stylings of Post Malone. It doesn't understand that there is no way to wear a seatbelt when I'm standing on the seat.

Absolutley love my gladiator but the only thing that drives me insane is the dam seat belt beep screaming at me. I don't mind wearing my seat belt but just a 5 min drive to the store or down a dirt road ...come on? And on top of that it doesn't stop like most past cars Iv had after 3-4 beeps. It keeps going and going and going.....is there any fix for this? Or setting ? Does it drive you guys nuts to?
most accidents happen within 1 mile of home. or somthing like that. just put the belt on, your kids will thank you.

I have to unbuckle the seat belt to reach into my mailbox, and my driveway is ~1/8 mile long. I do not need a seat belt on to drive down my driveway.
People should be free to decide if they want to use a seatbelt = Darwin Rules.
All this nanny technology is making people dumb.
PS: thanks for posting the video-
if you really don't like it, you don't have to buy one, :CWL:

or a freak heart attack or june bug that hits you in the eyeball, or a mechanical error because Gary on line 2 was having a bad day and didn't torque your shit right, lol.

Aha, good point, but I meant physically. My point was, because you aren't phsycially risking someone elses life from choosing to not protect your own, it shouldn't be forced. One can go stuff their fat** with McDonald's all day until they have a heart attack....that's just as much a fact as not wearing a seatbelt might end you....so why isn't healthy eating and exercise a law? Why, because that would be ridiculous, there's a fine line.

Disclaimer: If any of you are previously mentioned fast food loving fat*ss, no i don't want any BEEF(haha get it?) with you....it's a lifestyle choice and I support the freedom. Carry on! Lol

P.s. I wear mine most of the time, but I too agree with the OP, it would be nice to have a way to turn off the irritating reminder, especially during a slow 5mph green trail type of ride, where you're in the middle of nowhere, with little to no obstacles, but you keep jumping out to take pics during your ride. There are always situations where it's fine.

This this this. Are we living in the United States or North Korea? Sometimes it's hard to tell.

For the record, there is a simple procedure to disable the belt chime. Just Google it. It requires ignition on, engine off, wait for seatbelt indicator light to turn off, then buckle/unbuckle 3 times, shut ignition off.
Did you try this for the JT yet? I know it works on the RAM . Hopefully same for JT.

If I had to listen to Post Malone I would take off my seatbelt and drive full speed into a god damned bridge embankment.
