Do you work with Q and Moneypenny?
Ah, the Golden age of Spy Genre...007 manifested by Shawn Connery was the best in my opinion. Although the latest Bond is pretty good....Although I like Pierce Bronson in many of his other acting rolls, he just didn't come across "believable" as bond to me. He is kinds "thin" to be throwing his weight around against all the Bad-Hombre's from Spector an Smirch. He should have spent some time in the gym to prepare for his role.

When I was a kid, I always wanted to be Bond when I grew up, play with fun stuff, blow things up, and the Babes, oh the Babes. Always sounded like a Good-Gig to me. :)

Well, life didn't turn out quite that way, when I was 18 years old I joined the Navy and they taught me how to be an Electrician...After I got out the Navy (under the "G.I. Educational Bill") help me pay (it wasn't much but it helped) for University and I earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering which scored me a 38 year career in the telecommunication industry. All these benefits just for a mere 4 years of my life given to my Country....I've been retired now for some years and even though the massive amount of details fade in to one's subconscious faster than one would think, the basic concept always stay with you.

Sorry for the long post, I'm in a really good place this morning. Although I got right out off roading a few weeks after I got my Mojave in Feb. yesterday was my first trip with Th NJ-Jeep club...A long caravan of jeeps exploring the "great" hahah Wharton State forest Park - the biggest state park here. It was 5 hours of dirt roads, some narrow, some significant puddles and mud, but mostly sand (sometimes moderately deep) and wider paths. First time I rode in a long caravan of jeeps of all kinds...Had an absolute blast!

I'm really impressed with the "Off-Road" plus mode in deep sand, it just blasts right through it...Not so sure about off-road plus in mud though, still experimenting and learning.

LOL! Makes my decision to get a base Sport Max Tow even more prescient, since the only way you can unlock the doors in this thing is the actual physical key ;).

I didn't feel the need to get proximity locks when I ordered mine, but I like the reinforcement of that decision. Either way, I'm safe. Mine's a 6-speed.

Tested my TICCON bundle today (amazon 2 "bags" just a bit larger then the FOB) and a F-Box. They seem to be of high quality and worked perfectly. Right next to the Mojave FOB in box and bags, can't get in.

The bags are pretty nice, they have a small carabiner connected to them. I will leave one bag in Mojave at all times for the rare occasions I might go to a spot where I could become a "target", and put the fob in the F-Box at home.

Some people on amazon claim they don't work, they are probably sticking it in the front pouch. The back pouch is F-pouch...

Also, the bags "could" develop a leak over time if "roughed-up" so test them every 6 months is a good idea. Especially with our stupid-fob ;-) where the key keeps popping out because the button release is super sensitive.

I am so glad the OP brought this issue up! Thanks again!!!

So I read all 13 pages and must say this is a very interesting thread...Besides the idea of pulling the RFID does anyone have "solutions" for this problem? Im aware nothing is 100% but from the videos I have seen it seems many are good for about 30-45 seconds in the car then on to the next car...If this is the case has anyone found a deterrent that seems to be effective?

Not sure I may be missing your point, but the Faraday bags and boxes can greatly reduce your risk (if you use them properly) - see my post above and several others who have posted along the same lines....The only 100% solution will be if jeep ever takes the "stupid" out of the always on FOB, which in the Pantheon of "stupid" auto ideas ranks very high. (BTW, the automatic engine shut-off (default initial condition) when you stop for a min or so which Jeep blessed us with is also way up there on the Stupid Register ;-))

I think the faraday bags work when not in use but they cannot stay in the bag all the time...Im looking more towards other forms of protecting our investments...As this discussion has matured it seems as though some are going back to the basics (keys) so maybe looking at some of the basics in other ways makes sense (engine cut-offs, immobilizers, etc)

Just thoughts...

What I have read, is the JT will not run without a FOB once you shut it off. And it will pester you like heck even before you shut it off. If you can stop the pestering, you may be able to design a process to work, I don't know...Anyway, just my opinion, as I have posted above, I doubt they can sniff your fob very easily on the road, unless you are in very slow or stuck traffic and they are right next to you by some ridiculous odds or their bumper is up Gladiators "butt"...Anyway, I haven't seen any reports of such (they may have happened but I haven't seen it), so it is a much lower likely hood. If you mitigate risk with the faraday solution at home and walking in crowded areas, you likely have mitigated the risk some 90% or more (just a swag).

And PS, the other ideas you mentioned are old classics (add locking bar on steering). Might make sense, but as you stated nothing is fool proof...You have to decide what fits your lifestyle and security needs at the same time. (For me the Faraday solution are the sweet spot, cheap, easy to use, and likely reduces risk 90% or more).
