There is a baby lions back just past hells gate entrance but the OG lions back has been closed for many years as far as I know.

Correct. It’s been MANY years since it was open as a trail for regular use. I believe it’s only open for special use now. Request and get approved type thing to reduce wear and tear and ensure safety.
