Thoughts on extendable steel bumper?

Does anyone have this (super affordable) extendable steel bumper?

I love the tubular design, and how it extends for extra highway protection, but goes stubby for the trails. Bonus points for an (albeit high) winch mount.

Highway protection from what? Tumbleweeds? Anything solid enough I'd be afraid of it hitting my tire is going to fold those little bars into the tire in my opinion. I run a stubby full time on the mojave and both JLURs had the end caps removed day 1.

I would not mount a winch that high. It would negatively impact cooling and create leverage on the frame.
