I have about 66k KM on my engine - I've been changing oil at around 8000KM using the recommended 0w20.
I did my last oil change at around 65k KM - I noticed there was almost a "fine dust" or sparkle to the oil at the bottom of the drain pain - not magnetic, but I've never noticed it before. To be fair, though, I did use a different oil brand (Motomaster 0w20 synthetic - as opposed to the usual 0w20 Pennzoil Platinum). The filter had no flakes or specs in it at all (also used a WIX brand this time instead of Mopar). I'm hoping to get a sample examined, but my thought is that it was just the oil itself - looking at pictures online of people with "forbidden glitter" - mine didn't look like that at all.
Since then - I've been very aware of the vehicle.
It runs great - no noise any time while driving it, no codes, and no roughness at all.
I did decide to let it idle for a bit today (at temp) - I am hoping to attach three videos, but what I found was a LOUD higher pitched ticking that does seem to be coming from the back of the intake manifold. I did the screwdriver "trick" and listened to each valve cover, where ever I could put the screwdriver, and I do not hear the noise. I did check the passenger fuel rail, and I do not hear the ticking from the rail. The only place I could really hear it was the back of the intake manifold with the screwdriver - there seems to be some hoses/lines around the area. I can't hear the noise AT ALL with the hood closed at either the grill or the wheel wells.
I am not sure what the noise is - I don't think it is the lifters, but I was hoping to know what I should be looking at next. I don't really trust/like my local dealership, so I'm hopeful it's not something that would need warranty.
