Hey all, Looking to order a 2021 Gladiator in the next few days. Contacted one of the recommended dealers on this site, and need to get my TL membership, but I had a few questions:

If I'm custom ordering my truck, current wait time is 6-8 weeks, and I know I need to wait 30 days after signing up to get the 1% discount. Do I need my discount code when I order the jeep, or just when it gets in and I pick it up? so do I have to get the membership, wait 30 days, and then order my truck and wait 6-8 weeks?

Also, do all dealerships honor the 1% discount in addition to their discount, or is it hit or miss?

Thanks!

You need the code when you purchase your vehicle. Order your vehicle and sign up for TL on the same day...just in case. You never know how fast your vehicle will come in.

You will need control number at the time of pick up. By that time you should have 30 days of membership. The TL or FCA affiliate rewards discount is in addition to any dealership discounts you will qualify or negotiated.

Order the truck to get it started, but obviously get your numbers locked in writing as you will have the control number by the time the vehicle arrives.

Then when you get home, do the TL membership.

You only need the FCA control number when you go to sign the papers and take ownership when it arrives. And being that the plant is shut down (I think it still is anyway) for MY22 changes, that buys you even more time to clear the 30 days.

No, not all dealers play ball and are stuck in the old ways.
I wound up ordering from Tri-City and bringing it across the country for that reason.

Keep in mind some dealers will go as low as 8% under invoice and I think Gupton in Nashville is your closest for that. Tri City in NC will do 7% and not too far away either.

Maybe I’ll add to the confusion but here’s my case.

I signed up for TL last Monday, 08/16.

On Friday 08/20 I received my welcome letter, created an account on the FCA website and received my control number after verifying my email address.

Although I have a control number, I feel it won’t be valid until 30 days after I signed up with TL, meaning on 09/16.

I worked a deal with Kent at Peterson in Boise today and pulled the trigger. It’s Jeepin’ time.

Hope this helps.
