My touchscreen for the radio is not responsive. The display works and radio works. But I cannot trigger any of the soft buttons on the screen. I am going on a long road trip this weekend and I am trying to get it working again.

This happen last year and the dealer had some suggestion but then it starting working on its own again. Well, now it is not working and it has been going on for a month. I do not think it is coming back on its own.

I have tried disconnecting the negative battery cable to reboot it. This did not work. I think there is a backup battery buried somewhere.

Then I tried pull the F97 20amp fuse labeled radio. Still did not help.

Any other ideas?

Agreed, trying to fit that in. But At night I try this or that. It might just stay broke until I get back and get in there.

You have to disconnect both batteries to get a full reboot. The ESS battery is buried under the fuse box. It may require disconnecting the negative cable on the main battery, along with disconnecting the negative cables from the battery to the body ground points. If you disconnect both posts from the main battery, you can use a meter to check the cabling there for the 12 volt reading to know when the ESS battery is no longer feeding the system.

Try pulling the trim and check around the edges of the trim and screen for debris. If there's something putting pressure on the screen, it can cause it to be unresponsive.

Hello LANGeek, we can take a further look into this for you. Feel welcome to send us a PM with your VIN and we can search for any internal information that may be available.
