Max Tow has heavy duty 44’s (thicker tube than standard D-44 on the regular sport and sport s non Max Tow models) and the track width is 1.5” wider than standard D-44, with 4:10 gears. The axles are the same as Rubicon, less the lockers. I think the Mojave and Diesel JT’s have the same axle but stronger knuckles (the Diesel has 3:73 gears vs 4:10). The Max Tow only comes with the 8 speed automatic and a limited slip standard on the 2021 models and it is a crap shoot for which Max Tow has an LSD standard for the 2020’s.
Because of this axle and gearing the lighter weight of the Sport S Max Tow, than other trims with same axles and the 245x75x17 tires (smaller diameter) The Max Tow has the highest bed capacity 1600lbs, the highest tongue load rating 760lbs, and the highest tow rating 7650 lbs.
If you add accessories; bumpers, winch, wheels, larger diameter tires, remove the fender to bumper wings, you will decrease the Max Tow payload and Tow ratings.
