Towing capacity - 2020 Gladiator Rubicon with Trailer Tow Package

Where does it state the maximum towing capacity of the Jeep?
Advertising materials and my dealer said the Rubicon Automatic with Trailer-Tow package can handle 7K lb. I can’t find that anywhere in the manual or the tire-load info. Anyone know how I can confirm or deny the 7K number?

I am looking to buy a 2017 Jayco Feather 25BH with an unloaded weight of 5265 lb and GVWR of 6750.

I know I need the necessities:
1. Brake controller
2. Mirrors extenders
3. Weight distributed hitch
4. Wireless camera

the manual says what the max GCWR is. You’ll have to get your curb weight (GVWR on the sticker on your door) and subtract your maximum loading capacity (the other sticker on the door) and subtract that from the GCWR.
So the formula will look something like this:

Max trailer weight = GCWR - (GVWR - max load)

the problem with that number is that I don’t think it takes into account the driver or a full tank of fuel (or any other stuff you have in your vehicle)

the best way to do this is to go to a CAT scale and subtract your actual vehicle weight from the GCWR in the manual.

You should be fine with that trailer. I tow a Keystone Bullet 25BH that is 5200 dry without issue. I am running a 3.5” lift, 37s and 4.88s and have no issues. It’s slow up hills but that’s expected.

Rubicon is max tow of 7000 pounds with the 850RE tranny and the 4.01 axil ratio, without those two its 45oo pounds towing max.

Go by the chart @ShadowsPapa posted above. Rubicon is pretty simple, 7k with the automatic. The ones that get confusing is figuring out which numbers apply to a particular sport model because of the various combinations of base tow package, no tow package and max tow package and then 3.73 gears or 4.10 gears.
*Just don’t forget the little note at the bottom, GCWR includes occupants and vehicle cargo and so does the tongue weight capacity.

Personally, I’ve towed my cargo camper conversion that scaled at 4700 empty from St. Louis to eastern TN and back and from St Louis to Yellowstone and back without any issue (other than the whole locker sensor fiasco). Gas mileage wasn’t all that great(9 I think) and it reved pretty high in 4th gear on the hills but with weight distribution hitch w/sway control, ran straight and true with no issues doing the 70&75 mph speed limits.

I tow a Winnebago Minnie 28 ft 6200 lbs empty and it pulls fine. I did add a Reese Sway bar cam system to my load levelers to stop sway at high speeds
