With respect to losing a connection, you are correct. It will hold the last setting per the advertisement. . However, that is my easiest solution and I'm willing to work around that.

I would stay away from the curt blue tooth, left me without a remote connection one time due to a phone app update being required. It did work with last settings.
This isn’t accurate. If your phone isn’t available, even if it’s destroyed, the brake controller will function perfectly just as it did with its previous settings. The app is only required to change settings or profiles.

Exactly. And the app update was a one time thing when it switched from Curt’s app to one control auto. It’s never failed me once in 5 years. And for those that want a physical button, they make an accessory emergency braking button you can put anywhere you choose.

The "statement" is accurate, it did lose the connection for manual control, important in some but not all situations. As I stated it did still function with last saved settings.

The new app is very intrusive from the privacy standpoint but not I am not too paranoid about it. I just don't think it is as robust as a dedicated brake controller in situations where you need to manually apply brakes. The device also puts a little more strain on the connector than I would like.

It is still a great option for vehicles without an easy way to add a controller but I don't think it is a good replacement for a integrated controller where that is an option.

If you do go that route a bulletpoint or 67 designs phone holder keeps the phone in a good location to monitor it

The bending of frames was a early on thing with people jumping them and or overloaded/ hanging a bunch of #### on back of the trucks, if my memory serves me right. The Mojave's got reinforcements to the frames too.

Just use the manual brake button. Zero need to see your phone.
