Towed a 5300lb Airstream for 120 miles on mostly flat roads in Michigan. Gladiator towed well, you could feel the bumps in the road as the weight of the trailer would bounce the truck a bit on bigger bumps (tongue weight of trailer is 590lbs). Averaged 12.0 mpg for the trip, traveling mostly between 55-60 mph with a few small towns along the way and some stop lights. Would have been over 13 if I was on a freeway with no stop lights. I was between 5th and 7th gears most of the trip with a few areas of 4th gear on some hills. It was a windy day and the trailer felt solid behind me (I was using an Equalizer anti-sway hitch). I was also using the wireless brake controller from Curt which seemed to work with no problems.
