Uffda... the ultimate timewaste thread. Photodump incoming...

I spent ~16 years (the better part of my youth) working on fast cars.

Did some hiking and vaca's where outdoor living was required.

Drastically underestimated my need to use the facilities (when there are no facilities).

In 2019 I finally saw my first NASCAR Cup race in person, visiting my sister in Vegas. Saw some BRRRRRRRRRRRRRTZ overhead. I got some pics of the cars, too.

Last summer I got a smoker for Father's Day. So cooking/grilling/smoking is a bit of a hobby.

In 2015 we hiked 7.5 miles in Glacier during a wildfire (it wasn't near us) to this Chalet. Ruined a lot of our day pics; way too much smoke/haze. Didn't work out like I hoped for the Milky Way shot (I need a f/1.8 or f/1.2 lens).

So I also like to do some artistic photography (working on a computer all day doesn't make me want to sit on a computer for my hobbies, sadly).
Jeep Gladiator Toy/Hobby Pictures 33754899144_18ac33b98e_

Outside of travel and photography, I'm trying to get into ham & GMRS radio, house and yard stuff, started a little with HO train stuff (rainy day hobby), and, like many others, pew pew stuff.
I built a couple ARs, have my wife's "pistol" AR in a shoebox waiting for her to build it, waiting on my .224 barrel I ordered in May to finish building my AT&T gun (when you want to reach out and touch someonething). And that's not including the work on the EDC stuff; I'm slowly changing over to RDS; my G17 has one. I haven't been able to get to the range and try it out yet.

I also have a bad LEGO affliction. Luckily I've been able to stave off buying a whole bunch by trying to stay within one genre of LEGO and avoiding the Ultimate Collector Series s**t. Our bookcases are full of LEGO and games, very few books.

Quick hit list:
Millennium Falcon (regular)
Slave 1
Vader's TIE fighter & 2 wingmans & Luke's X-Wing
Hogwart's Castle
The Tumbler
Schumacher's F1 Ferrari
Indiana Jones Temple
Ferris Wheel (Wife's)
Scrambler (Wife's)
Ewok Village (Wife's)
AT-AT (Wife's)
Stranger Things (still in box)
Typewriter (still in box)

Got a nice collection of games, from parlor games (shuffleboard table) to bingo to trivia to poker (with custom chips).

And movies. I'm sort of a walking IMDB. Been on a nostalgia kick recently, watching Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Jurassic Park and others from the 80s/early 90s.
So now with the JT, 4-wheelin' is my next hobby.

Kind of an off question here. So many of you have guns and I am really liking these lever action ones since I had a lever action BB gun as a kid. Honestly the Henry's and 1894 and 1895 Marlins look great but they are so expensive. What do you think about the 336? Are they is fun as everyone says? I primarily bow hunt so I don't really need a gun, but I did think it might be fun and maybe it would expand my hunting season. I don't even know if I should bother with ammo being as hard to find as it is.
I would tell you that I would never part with my Marlin 336 lever gun, but I have a feeling I'll be looking for another one at some point....I've made it a habit of gifting my sons with a rifle when they were in their 20's and my youngest son shoots that rifle so well, he told me that's the one he wants, so I'll probably be replacing it with either another 336 or maybe a caliber like the 45-70.

To answer your question, I love the 336. If I didn't have an AR, it would be my go-to rifle.

I know a few people with 336s and they all love them, though it depends on how you plan to use it. It's a great shooting gun and offers some advantages over the Winchester clones, mainly how it ejects. There has been a lot of praise for the 336 in terms of shooting and functionality. The current future is somewhat unknown with Remington going bankrupt and selling Marlin to Ruger. Production is just starting to resume now. They expect to start delivering in fall of 2021.

I'm in the market to buy a 336 my self as I need a smaller lighter gun for hunting. I"m looking at .30-30 for reduced recoil because my current Mag round is completely worthless in trees.
Thanks for the advice! I didn't know that about the mag round and trees!

Damn that's pretty good. So he's that good? I hope my boy is a better shot then me. I'm terrible.

Well, he hasn't shot the rifle in a couple of years, but we went to an outdoor shoot back then and he hit a fire extinguisher at 100 yards, first shot, iron sights. He got pretty good with that rifle.

Someday I'm going to get the Dino gun. Lever just seems to be fun. I've never shot a caliber that size, so let's hope my shoulder holds up.

I'm eagerly awaiting my barrel so I can finish up my .224 in an AR platform.

Yeah, um... LEGO addiction, eh?

That 5 drawer filing cabinet under the Bugatti and Porsche boxes to the right is packed solid with all the catalogs and original instructions I've kept since the mid 70s. Some are worth a fortune. Also, look very close to the captain in the center of the bridge of that stupid SHIP. For some damn reason that minifig lists for $600 over on Bricklink. ??? If I were to sell it all, I could easily pay off the house and the JT.

Speaking of which...
