Hi all,

I have the 21 Rubicon with auxillary switches and i bought this light:

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...MImN-8t_2z8wIVReDICh0SJgAREAQYAyABEgIlUPD_BwE

I'm trying to figure out if i can install it taking advantage of my auxillary switches but still be able to switch from white to amber WITHOUT running the included switch inside. Does anyone have any insight into this? I assume if i dont use the switch then it will only turn on with one color. I called TS/Travellers and they told me that if i remove the relay then the LED wont work at all. Wondering if I need to return it for just a plain white LED bar. Below is a pic of relay and switch. Looks like it will need one of the 40amp wires as well.

That's a 3 position switch and your AUX switches are 2 position. If you know enough about 12V electronics you could possibly wire up a circuit that will toggle between position 1, off, position 2, off, position 1, off, etc. to work with a single AUX switch. Then as you press your AUX button it will toggle from white, off, amber, off etc.

You could also use 2 AUX switches, one to work position 1 and the other to work position 2. I just don't know how the light bar will respond if you accidentally have position 1 and 2 on a the same time. And then you will have used 2 AUX switches for 1 light bar. Which may be ok for you.

Or, just mount that toggle switch out of the way in the glove box or center console and make your life easy.

You should have 3 wires running from lights, power to white lights, power to amber lights, ground.

The ground can be run to grounding block behind main battery. The white lights can be run to either #3 or #4 Aux. switch wiring behind battery. The amber lights can be ran to whichever is left over between #3 or #4 wiring for Aux. switches.

If you don't want to use their three position switch and want to use the Aux. switches, then yes you'll have to use two of the Aux. switches.

You don't use their switch, you don't use their relay, you don't use their fuse.

How are you going to attach the light bar to your JT? I had a similar 50" bar on my JKU mounted to the windshield frame and removed it pretty quickly, it was very noisy and dropped my mpg around 2mpg.

I was going to use Rough Country's windshield mounts. Just came in today. If its super noisy then it probably wont stay on long. All of the mounts Ive seen claim to be noisy so i dont know how to get around that. I'll see if i can tolerate it.

It will be super noisy.

LED bars are the kind of thing that I would want to be able to quick mount and quick remove, to only have on when necessary. Unless you gotta have that look.

I would mount the light and see how noisy it is before trying to wire it. I suspect you may be wanting to return it, or find another location near the front bumper.
