Traded JT for JL rubi with 2.0

I guess it depends on what you want out of it. I don’t plan to run any races with it, so I find the JT suits me perfectly as is. It feels way peppier than the Tacoma I traded in for it at any rate.

Exactly my situation. I sold my 2018 TRDPro MT for the 2018 MSRP, and I find my 2022 JTR MT a much better vehicle in every way, including acceleration. Maybe it's a New Mexico thing!

I can’t enough of the people putting 35” + tires on a 6 cylinder then complaining about power. There’s many things to consider with bigger tires, a clumsy underpowered vehicle being one of them. And that’s a universal rule that applies to almost all vehicles

I was thinking about this bread just last night when I had to run to Lowe’s for some hex bolts I needed to mount a bench vise. It was getting late and I needed to get there before they closed and back in time to eat the pizza my wife was making for me while it was still fresh and hot out of the oven.

Needless to say, I got a little heavy on the skinny pedal and was very pleasantly surprised with the performance. I’ve slowed way down after retiring so I don’t normally get on it very much any more, but last night I did and was not disappointed in the least.

When I first relocated to Maine, we were having a hard time finding an acceptable house in the tiny town we moved to.

After rejecting everything we’d seen the realtor took us to a really nice one just outside of town on a rise overlooking a gorgeous lake in the back of a beautiful secluded lot, and priced very reasonably.

We couldn’t believe our luck and wondered why it hadn’t sold in so long till I took a walk just past the line of trees between the backyard and the lake. The railroad tracks - very active line BTW - cut right through the property behind the line of trees between the house and the water.

Needless to say, we kept looking and eventually ended up building.

We rented a JL Sahara 2.0t a couple years ago in Utah. While it did feel like the power was about the same as my JT Overland, the JL ran out of wind after 75mph (80 mph speed limits in UT)... and as soon as you hit a hill, skinny pedal went to the floor to maintain speed. My JT on 35's was able to maintain speed in UT and even CO...

Good choice, my wife's JL is a 2.0 and runs 37s with stock gearing. No issues at all and remains peppy. I'm sticking with my JT tho!. Engine swap or trade up in the future. Time will tell.

Just got rid of my jtrd for a rubicon extreme recon with the pentastar with etorque and it has lots of zip. Diesel surged to 70c a litre over gas. Also had a 2.0 and it’s a wash between the pentastar etorque where I live at elevation 2.0 all the way

The pentastar has a horrendous power curve. I love my JT, but the engine is objectively dated and poorly suited for a truck application. 260 lbs ft, at near 4k, is just bad.
