It is with mixed emotions that I traded my '21 JTRD recently. The Gladiator did everything I asked of her, and it was a difficult decision. I honestly believe that if the fuel pump issue would not have surfaced that I would have kept it longer. My friends laugh because I always say the new acquisition is "a keeper" then they start the over and under pool on how long I will have it. Part of the fun for me is the build and making the Jeep do what I want it to. I was told the Gladiators are too long to rock crawl, challenge accepted. I did a bed trim, installed the Evo High and Tight bumper, and mounted the spare in the bed, and I had plenty of clearance for the trails. I ran across a good deal on a '22 Wrangler 392 that I could not pass up. On another note, I have a set of the Performance Rock Rails in the classifieds for the Gladiator if anyone is looking for these.

Good luck to all of you with your vehicles, I appreciated the information, advice, and humor I have found on this forum.

Have the same problem! Build it to my minds eye, move on to the next vehicle. Problem with my Gladiator is that I have always wanted a Jeep that was both a Jeep and pickup . Boom problem solved! It’s a keeper……

Well Scott you are leaving but sorta not leaving going to a 392 Wrangler it is an awesome step and perhaps where ya need to be. You can come around any time especially when I start my 392 Hydro Glide air inlet system under the hood of my Mojave , have the parts list just need time. Take care and enjoy the new ride…..Jack

PS: at least update your profile picture before ya go!

I feel the same way. I always wanted a capable Jeep midsize pickup, and I not only got one, but I got one with a diesel, which was a huge bonus. I'm keeping the Gladiator for the next 25+ years.

On a side note, I've never been on an auto forum where so many people buy and sell/trade their vehicles so quick! Maybe the Jeep folks have more money, so they can afford to absorb the depreciation! Meanwhile, the rest of us have to keep our vehicles for a minimum of 7 years before we can think about selling/trading.

I'm of the same mind as you, but have been in the "Jeep" club since 91 I still have it. My Comanche in desperate need of work done though. To many good memories with it and some past friends. Same with my 90XJ too, but it will be parted out to my 91XJ hopefully.

I think lots of us have been there at some point. Lucky for me my wife loves the Wrangler, although my wallet can’t stand it! There’s nothing like owning both though, and I’m sure if you found a way to do so you would have. But trust me, it ain’t easy or cheap wheeling two Jeeps šŸ˜‚

I totally agree with you, it is not cheap wheeling two Jeeps. We had the '21 JTRD and my wife's '18 JLUR at the same time for several years, both lifted with 37s and both with a full set of skid plates set up for off-roading. I had the '21 JTRD in the shop and they loaned me a Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe to drive and she fell in love with it. We traded her '18 JLUR for a '23 Grand Cherokee 4xe earlier this year.

No matter what the mix of vehicles I have, one of them will always be in the Jeep (Wrangler/Gladiator) family. We enjoy off-roading too much to give up our Jeeps!
