So I bought this hooke knock off cargo rack based off the fabtech one on eBay and the (non trail rail ) brackets don't work. I ended up getting a heavy discount on the cargo rack so I'm considering on getting the rail system but only if I can utilize it somehow on the rest of the bed. Does anyone know any kind of rack setup that holds a spare tire? I saw Mopar has the trail rail rack bars but it says it only supports 150lbs. I think my tire and rim is 120lbs plus weight of a metal basket.

Are you talking about one like this, from Wilco?

I kinda wanted to get mine up in the air facing down on some kind of rails or basket. I'm gonna have my cargo rack in the rear so I'll be limited on space. Does anyone know if the Mopar bed rails can be mounted anywhere on the trail rails or is it only certain locations?

The instructions seem to indicate that they can be mounted anywhere along the rail. It suggests they be at least 24 inches apart.

I have the Wilco and it's a decent enough setup... problem is the mount is high on the rail with a 35" tire and since it grabs the tire at the center of gravity, the tire does move a little off road. I've been debating about getting a support piece fabricated (that would require drilling the bed) but personally, I would not recommend it at list price.
